[キーウ(キエフ) 19日 ロイター] – On the 19th the governor of the Ivano-Frankovsk region in western Ukraine announced that a large thermal power plant in the city of Burshtyn in western Ukraine was hit by a Russian missile attack and a fire broke out. There were no casualties or injuries.
The plant served five million people in three western regions, which represented over 10% of the Ukrainian population before the Russian invasion.
The governor of Vinnitsa state in the Midwest also said that a power plant in the state had been attacked by Russian forces. The extent of the damage has not been clarified.
Russian President Volodymyr Zelensky said on Monday that Russian airstrikes have destroyed 30 percent of the country’s power plants since March 10, following a series of attacks on key infrastructure before winter.
A senior presidential official said three people were injured in a drone strike in the northern province of Chernigiv.
