The tours surrounding Kylian Mbappé’s future have been many. Especially given that his contract with Paris Saint-Germain expires this summer, which has led to speculation of a potential club move.
Now a decision has been made.
The Athletic claims that Mbappé has decided to leave PSG after the season. According to the site, he has communicated his decision to club president Nasser Al-Khelaifi. Transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano has the same information.
Furthermore, The Athletic writes that PSG will save around 200 million euros (roughly SEK 2.2 billion) per year when Mbappé now leaves. The Ligue 1 giants will also not have to pay out the loyalty bonus of between €75-80 million (about €840-895 million) that the winger has written into his contract, according to a previous settlement.
Le Parisien recently reported that the 25-year-old has decided to continue his career at Real Madrid. It remains to be seen if there will be a move to the Spanish capital or not.
Shortly after the information about Mbappé’s definite departure from PSG was published, Spanish Relevo writes that “Los Blancos” will now advance quickly in their negotiations with the world star to complete a deal.
Direct contacts between Real Madrid pamp Florentino Perez and Mbappé have been ongoing since January. According to Relevo, it is only “a matter of time” before the big move takes place as the parties basically agree on a contract and the Frenchman has given the green light to the “meringues”.
Mbappé joined PSG from Monaco in 2017. Since then, he has scored an incredible 243 goals and 105 assists in 290 games.
