the athletic center is easily accessible from all parts of the city – Dunakanyar Region

The National Athletics Center is easily accessible from all parts of the city, it is in a perfect location from the point of view of public transport, but there is no parking space in the vicinity – said the CEO of Budapest 2023 Zrt., the organizer of the World Athletics Championships, at a press conference on Thursday.

“The biggest sports event in Hungary’s history” will take place between August 19 and 27, more than three hundred thousand tickets have already been sold, but “we would like to lure nearly four hundred thousand fans here and provide them with a perfect service”, stated Balázs Németh.
He added: organizing the world’s third largest sporting event in a new facility is not easy, and there may be disruptions in the first few days while athletes and fans get used to how to approach the National Athletic Center.
The bottom line is that it’s not worth going by car, it’s practically impossible to find a parking space in the area, but there are good alternatives, said the CEO.
He emphasized: the hall is within walking distance of Boráros Square, which is easily accessible by trams 4 and 6, as well as other public transport vehicles.
From the stops of trams 1, 2 and 24, the Palace of Arts (Müpa) can be reached by walking a few minutes to the north and main entrances. The HÉV of Ráckeve (H6) and Csepel (H7) can also be an excellent choice, as well as several bus stops near the Közvágóhíd, said Balázs Németh.
He drew attention to the fact that the site can also be accessed on safe bicycle paths, bicycle racks are available next to both entrances. Furthermore, an agreement has been concluded with community scooter providers, these vehicles can be left at Müpa, as well as Bubi bicycles.
The World Cup ship will run from Batthyány square to the Müpa harbor from August 19 to the evening of the 27th – continued the CEO, noting that the ship will not run on the morning of the 20th during the air show and in the afternoon for safety reasons.
He said that it is advisable to arrive at least two hours before the start of the first event, as there will be many programs and “experience zones” waiting for visitors at Stadion Park. Volunteers welcome everyone, and ticket offices are still operating, he said.
Regarding the lack of parking spaces, Balázs Németh stated: “we deliberately did not pave the Danube bank with asphalt, because the World Cup will give Budapest a new leisure park, not a huge, concrete-covered pad”.
