It has been more than a year since we met in person the Aston Martin DBX, Gaydon’s first SUV, and a starting price of around 210,000 euros was announced in Spain. Later, in the summer, we discovered that the British manufacturer was also preparing a variant with a coupe body and a seven-seater.
Now we have learned, thanks to statements to the English magazine Autocar of the head of the brand, Tobias Moers, that Aston Martin intends to launch three new versions of the DBX, including a plug-in hybrid. He has also taken the opportunity to confirm that the Valhalla hypercar will be launched on the market in the second half of 2023.

This DBX with PHEV technology will be waiting, however, since its launch could take place in 2024, in three years. In any case, it is said that, thanks to hybridization, it could become one of the most powerful SUVs on the market.
At the moment, the Aston Martin DBX offers a single engine, which Moers knows well, since it is the 4.0-liter V8 biturbo block from Mercedes-AMG (remember that for years Moers was the CEO of AMG), in this case with 550 HP of power and a maximum torque of 700 Nm.
The future plug-in hybrid could also use technology from the German giant, specifically the PHEV system that will be released by the new 63e and 73e models from the Affalterbach firm.
This system combines the same 4.0 liter V8 biturbo from AMG that the DBX uses, with a powerful electric motor, for a total power of around 700 hp. In the event that Aston Martin wanted to go a step further, a more powerful electric unit could take this figure up to 800 hp.
The other two versions that are also on the way have not been confirmed yet, but it is possible that it is a hybrid V6 and a conventional V12, the latter without electric support, which could receive the name AMR, as the top of the range. the DBX family.
If realized, the V12-powered Aston Martin DBX would become the third twelve-cylinder SUV on the market, after two other British luxury products: the Rolls-Royce Cullinan and the Bentley Bentayga W12.
