Last year, an Asian giant hornet’s nest was found in Budapest. Then, Hungarian experts searched for him for two months. In Slovakia, the search lasted only three days. Specialists tracked the insects’ flight path by using markers stuck to previously caught hornets. They also used drones – reports the RMF FM website.

Ethnologist from Comenius University in Bratislava, Peter Fedor, quoted by Noviny.sk, said that now is the optimal moment for their disposal, because the insects are not yet adults. The disposal was carried out at night because that is when the individuals arrive at the nest. It was necessary to use ladders and telescopic poles due to the height at which the nest was located. A substance to eliminate hornets in the nest was applied to the nest using special tubes. The process was successful, reports RMF FM.
