The purchase of the trotting horse Global Agreement was a great auction find.

The result so far: four victories and almost SEK 700,000 raised.

– It was a big gamble, says the co-owner, lawyer Jesper Arvenberg.

The seven-year-old gelding Global Agreement won over one million kroner for his previous trainers, father and son Untersteiner.

The horse took several V75 victories but suffered a hoof fracture and was forced to rest.

In April last year, the Global Agreement was sold on the Travera auction site.

The price: SEK 95,000.

But the story doesn’t end there. For his new owners and trainer Alessandro Gocciadoro, the horse is reborn and won four straight victories in Italy and France.

“I said yes right away”

Behind the owner’s pseudonym Glas&Bågar hides the well-known lawyer Jesper Arvenberg, who partly made a name for himself by defending some of the country’s leading trotting trainers.

Together with their father Björn Arvenberg, they had a sudden whim one evening and attacked Travera.

– We were sitting at home on the sofa. Then my father called me and wanted to buy the Global Agreement and asked if I wanted to join. I said yes immediately, it was mostly a fun thing, Jesper tells Trav365.

“Dad behind it”

Hopes were not sky high, but when Global Agreement showed up on the race course, the pulse was raised.

Four starts and four victories and around SEK 700,000 have rattled into the account in a short time.

– It’s absolutely fantastic, super fun. The horse has been terribly good and in the ways he won both in Italy and now most recently at Vincennes in Paris. It’s mostly dad who’s behind it. I have owned a few horses before, but this is the first one we own together, says Jesper and continues:

– Peter and Johan Untersteiner have done a great job with him before, but then he suffered an injury. Either it heals well or less well. It was a big gamble. but it turned out perfectly.

What has trainer Alessandro Gocciadoro told you about the horse?

– He is very happy with him and says that he fits in very well in France.

“The most wonderful person”

Jesper’s father, optician Björn Arvenberg, is also very interested in tra.

Together with Jesper, he was present at Vincennes when Global Agreement won on February 4 at the latest.

Björn pays tribute to the horse’s trainer Alessandro Gocciadoro in several ways.

– Alessandro is the most wonderful person, the whole family and also his father who was also a trotting trainer. What an organization. The company has several horses in Italy, including four one-year-olds that are entered in Pisa. It started with Jesper being Alessandro’s lawyer and then they became friends, says Björn Arvenberg.

Wasn’t it a big gamble to buy an injured horse?

– It’s clear that it was, you don’t know anything. I think he had two hovbern fractures, but we sent him down to Italy right away. That sand that Gocciadoro trains in is very good. then he was jogged to work, two jobs a week. I remember Alessandro said early on that it is a good horse.

When will he start next?

– It will be in a race on February 28 at Vincennes, if he comes along, but I think so. We will visit Paris again then. The last time we were down and watched it was completely surreal, concludes Björn.
