“He has done a great deal of work here, which is demanding and tiring,” said Jan Burian, General Director of the National Theater. “The first Czech stage cannot be turned into an author’s theater. An important part of his work must remain a modern interpretive theater and have a solid ensemble composed of leading actors, “said ND General Director Jan Burian.

He crashed against the wall
“I was not fired, we agreed very calmly. My departure is mainly related to the case No! You have to endure it at DAMU, Špinar told ČTK. According to him, the student initiative No! “It is necessary to make a fundamental change in the management of the Department of Drama Theater. It no longer corresponds to reality at all, because the independent sector also penetrates large buildings, which I am proof of, because the chief dramaturg of the play is Marta Ljubková, who graduated from Alterna and graduated from DAMU, “he said.

Špinar stated that on Monday, August 30, he will publish a video on social networks, describing in more detail the situation of Czech theater. “I will talk more about the state of the official Czech theater, where only a few people who stay in power, for example in the case of DAMU for 30 years, decide and pull the strings.

The head of the play claims that he “hit the wall” at the National Theater. “I have experience that people in high positions are not very interested in theater, they are quite political and very conservative, which does not benefit theater. I think theater in the world has been somewhere else for a long time. We keep making classics and we don’t know what we mean. On Monday I will describe what I have to work on. The official Czech theater scene is in a terrible state quo, we do nonsensical things and I don’t think the audience is really interested anymore. Nevertheless, I am knocking on locked doors here because it is controlled by people with conservative taste, and their practices date back to the communist period, “he added.
