The artistic community fired actress María Onetto in La Chacarita

If the goodbyes had the sound of applause, that would be the sound that would be heard since the death of María Onetto was learned. Social networks echoed the unfortunate loss of this 56-year-old actress, first of all her colleagues, many of whom worked with her on television, in movies or in theater. After her, those who knew her for having seen her as spectators or for professional reasons. In this case, the text written by the designer Pablo Ramírez was one of the most replicated: “Dear Maria, I can’t believe it. If you came on Friday, you tried on the dresses and you told me that you preferred to wear pants and a black shirt to the presentation of (the series) Ringo ”. On Friday, within the framework of the FIBA (International Festival of Buenos Aires), in the Casacuberta room of the General San Martín Theater, the cast of the work by Mariano Tenconi Blanco dedicated the performance to him and to the final greeting, technicians and part of the team went up crying that it was precisely in that room that he was part of the staging of Bodas de sangre, one of the last works of María Onetto. And yesterday, members of the artistic community said goodbye to the remains of the actress in the Pantheon of Actors in the Chacarita cemetery.

prolific. María Onetto was part of the cast of successful and popular soap operas such as Montecristo –with which she won two Martín Fierro awards for her role as Leticia Monserrat–, but she was also one of the low-profile actresses. She was committed to causes and topics that interested her, but her opening to the media was exclusively to talk about her work and promote the dissemination of the projects for which she was summoned. And in her 56 years these were many, and that her initial passion was psychology, a career she completed at the age of 21. But it was the theater classes with Hugo Midón, and shortly after with Ricardo Bartís, which set her horizons in acting.

A tour of the titles where she was the protagonist or part of the cast reveals that María Onetto worked with many directors, such as Javier Daulte in theater; in cinema Lucrecia Martel chose her for La mujer sin cabeza; she also with Damián Szifrón, in one of the mini-stories of Wild Tales. These are just a few titles. In a few days, as the designer Pablo Ramírez mentioned, she would be presenting the long-awaited premiere of Ringo, the series that was finished filming in 2022 about the boxer Ringo Bonavena.
