The great Bulgarian artist Dora Boneva has died, BNT reports.
On April 11, the artist, whose husband was the great poet Lyubomir Levchev, turned 85. She was born in Gabrovo and graduated from the Academy of Arts under Prof. Dechko Uzunov.
Dora Boneva has over 35 solo exhibitions at home and abroad. Her paintings are present in the UNESCO building in Paris, in many galleries and private collections in England, France, Italy, the Netherlands, Germany, Russia, Greece, Japan and others. The artist has received awards from the Union of Bulgarian Artists, the Sofia Municipality, the Solenzara Cultural Institute in Paris. He has a silver medal from the French Academy of Fine Arts.
Earlier in April, Dora Boneva presented her new painting exhibition, which is largely retrospective. It also included paintings painted in recent months. She herself will not attend the opening for health reasons.
