On Tuesday, August 13, a delegation from Gualeguay will arrive in the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires, more precisely at the National Congress, with a performance by musicians and teachers from the “Isidro Maiztegui” Municipal Music School (EMMIN), along with an exhibition of paintings. The event will be officially inaugurated at 5:00 p.m. in the Ricardo Balbín auditorium; the entrance to the event will be at Avenida Rivadavia 1841. After many years, Gualeguay is once again present in Buenos Aires with local artists.
Through the efforts of the Director of Culture, Nora Ferrando, with the collaboration of the national deputy, Marcela Ántola, and municipal resources, this valuable opportunity was achieved in the National Congress to show an aspect of local art. The trip includes a visit to the legendary Teatro Colón.
Some of the musicians and artists highlight the importance of this presentation for our morning show.
Hugh Host (guitar teacher): “This event is very important in many ways; as a musician it is a great joy and responsibility to go up on this stage representing our city. As it is also for teachers who can show a little of the hard work that is done in our institution, valid for projection and growth. In this case, two students will accompany the presentation with guitars, the young Leonel Tabares who sees it as an opportunity and Alejandro Vaccari for whom it is an honour to participate in this event in such an important venue.”
Cristina Gomez (visual arts): “It is a great honor and pleasure for me to be present with two pictorial works, very grateful to the authorities since it is an important exhibition for all local artists, thank the national deputy Marcela Antolato the director of culture, Lic. Nora Ferrando and the Municipality of Gualeguay.”
Juan Lauze (piano teacher): “For my part, it is exciting to play in a place where decisions are made for our blessed country, but I owe it to Gualeguay and the Isidro Maiztegui School of Music, for giving me a place, since I come from the sister city of Gualeguaychú, for which I am eternally grateful.”
Lorena Nadalin (visual arts): “I am very proud to have been invited to represent our region with my paintings. It is an opportunity to show what I do and love so much, in such an emblematic place for everyone. I am very happy to be part of the group of selected artists, where each one will represent our city so well with their art. I am very grateful to Cultura Gualeguay for giving us this valuable opportunity.”
Micaela Lozano (visual arts): “Having the opportunity to present my works at the Congress represents a source of pride and a great achievement in my career, and also the pleasure of being able to represent my city, where artists always try to promote their art, and I am very grateful to be invited.”
Gian Carboni (visual arts): “I am grateful to be present with two works in this place, transcending the local always means artistic growth for our community and it is important for the personal growth of those of us who will be present there with our works.”
“Wence” Saldana (percussion teacher): “It is very important from a personal point of view to be able to participate in this event that is so important for our city, accompanied by my students, who are: Martiniano Torres, Jeremías Martínez, Hilario Acosta Mena and Benjamín Brescacinfor everyone it is a unique opportunity and experience, especially for those who, at such a young age, are experiencing this possibility.”
Roberto Zaragoza (bandmaster): “It is a privilege to be part of the Municipal Music Band and share with an excellent group of musicians, representing the Gualeya culture in such an important place in our country. I thank the Director of Culture for this unique and wonderful occasion, accompanied in what will be this performance by: Camila Loss, Belen Montenegro, Daniela Perez Shefer, Jeremiah Martinez, Martiniano Torres, Alfredo Mendez, Rolando Gianini and Hector Jaime”.
Daniel Rodriguez (visual arts): “First of all, I am grateful to be present in such an important place for our country, beyond those who are and those who have been in the National Congress.”
“Democratic life passes through our institutions, and the legislative palace is a fundamental mechanism for the government of the State. I think it will be a “MEMORABLE” moment for all of us who are participating there, the musicians with the performance and the artists with our works, who will be there for a week. This is possible because it is managed, it is not achieved from one day to the next, it requires a lot of paperwork and has a significant cost (example: just the transfer of the works). Organizing and coordinating this cultural event is a great responsibility and those of us who are going are privileged to thank the person in charge of the Culture Department of our city, the Municipality of Gualeguay, for this initiative, because it does us all good.”
