The previous record was set with the 38,262 people who attended Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in 2019 for the North London derby.
This record adds to the beats in the final of the Women’s European Championship, played between England and Germany (2-1), which was attended by 87,192 fans.
Arsenal, who dominate the English league with two wins, eight goals conceded and none against, beat Tottenham (4-0) with goals from Beth Mead (m.5), Dutch Vivianne Miedema (m.44) and 69) and the Brazilian Raffaello (m.54).
Last season, the all-time record for a women’s match was beaten at the Camp Nou in the first leg of the Champions League semi-final between Barcelona and Wolfsburg. 91,648 people attended.
