It is a great job that the National Government has promoted, with many investments, and we are already seeing the results it generates in passengers from all over the country”.
For his part, the president of Trenes Argentinos Infraestructura, Martín Marinucci, said that for them “this is one of the main, emblematic works, which does not have an integral intervention, which will allow not only greater speed for the trains, but something that it seems fundamental to us, which is operational safety”.
“Increasing frequencies, and for users to have less travel time lost, and to do so with maximum safety, is one of the objectives of these works that the president Alberto Fernández He decided from the very beginning of the management, so that the railway system belongs to all Argentines,” he added.
In this sense, the redevelopment of the maneuvering area of the Retiro station the number of trains entering the station will increase, adding frequencies and avoiding delays and cancellations. It also ensures greater safety by reducing train movement and reducing noise pollution for all passengers.
It is the first time since the construction of the Retiro station, more than 100 years ago, that the infrastructure has been entirely intervened with this work which is part of the over 235 that are being carried out as part of the Rail Transport Modernization Plan promoted by the Ministry of Transportation of the Nation to enhance the travel experience.
Nationally, the plan has already recovered over 1,800 km of roads, restored 17 services and sections and renovated 48 stations. Furthermore, among the many works, it foresees the construction in the AMBA of 28 underpasses and 15 modular bridges to increase frequencies and improve urban mobility.
