The arrival of bus migrants sent from Texas to New York City intensifies, with at least 80 people arriving this Monday and according to the mayor, they are expected at a rate of 150 a day, which will impact basic services for residents.

To date, more than 30,000 migrants have passed through the city’s reception centers and at least 21,400 live in shelters. The city has opened 60 more hotels, but all have reached capacity.

The local government hopes to receive $3 billion in federal funds to mitigate the crisis through 2026, according to a Comptroller report.

According to this agency, the federal government has not yet confirmed that it will provide the required $1 billion annually to help mitigate the immigration crisis. Ángela González, Voice of America, New York.
