Hengki said the process of arresting the two important figures of the Khilafatul Muslimin mass organization had been carried out in accordance with procedures. He said the arrests of the two figures were carried out after investigators discovered that they had a role in the activities of the Khilafatul Muslimin mass organization which violated Indonesian rules.

“We also emphasize that those who have had misunderstandings before, must obey the rules of the Republic of Indonesia. Note, they must obey. They must not oppose us TNI-Polri and local government officials here. Must obey the rules in Indonesia,” Hengki explained.

The arrests of two important figures of the Khilafatul Muslimin were carried out by a joint team from the Directorate of Criminal Investigation of the Polda Metro Jaya led by Kombes Hengki Haryadi. The arrest was also assisted by the TNI and the local Forkopimda.

Confiscate Billions of Rupiah

In addition to arresting two important figures in the mass organization, the police confiscated a total of billions of rupiah. The money is suspected to be operational funds from mass organizations Khilafatul Muslimin.

“It is suspected that the operational symbols of this mass organization are contrary to Pancasila,” explained Hengki.

The two people and a number of pieces of evidence will now be brought to Jakarta. The police will continue their investigation at Polda Metro Jaya.

Hengki said there were significant findings from the search of the Khilafatul Muslimin headquarters today. He also mentioned that there are new offenses from the case that are being investigated by investigators.

“Essentially, these are two important figures in this mass organization and our investigations are ongoing. We will present new offenses later when they are released in Jakarta,” said Hengki.

Regarding the significant findings obtained from today’s search, the police have not spoken further. Hengki said his party would coordinate with a number of relevant agencies to investigate the significant findings.

The arrest of the two people today adds to the members of the Khilafatul Muslimin who have been arrested by the ranks of the Polda Metro Jaya. Previously, on Tuesday (7/6) the top leader of the Khilafatul Muslimin mass organization, Abdul Qadir Hasan Baraja, was arrested in Bandar Lampung.

Abdul Qadir Baraja has now been named a suspect under Article 59 paragraph 4 junto Article 82 paragraph 2 of the Republic of Indonesia Law Number 16 of 2017 concerning Ormas and Article 14 paragraph 1 and paragraph 2 and/or Article 15 of Law Number 1 of 1946 concerning the Criminal Law Regulations. Abdul Qadir is currently being held at the Polda Metro Jaya detention center with the threat of 20 years in prison.
