Army Chief of Staff (KSAD) TNI Gen Andika Perkasa deliver directions after the disclosure of the misuse of the education budget in the TNI AD. The Army Chief of Staff requested that the misappropriated money be returned so that it would sanction the persons involved.
The direction was conveyed by Andika in a video of an internal TNI AD meeting uploaded by the TNI AD’s official account entitled ‘The Kasad Staff Meeting Regarding the Monitoring and Evaluation Team Report on Budget Misuse.’ Written in the video description, this budget abuse is a finding from the Wasev Team to the Army Chief of Staff. The fiscal year in question is the 2020 fiscal year.
General Andika Perkasa request that the misused funds be returned immediately. He didn’t want a cash refund.
“Anyway, everything must be returned. If it has been returned, we must have proof that it has been returned by transfer,” Andika said as in the video uploaded to the TNI AD YouTube account, Thursday (5/8/2021).
“I don’t want cash, so I have to look for account numbers, including data on where these soldiers are on duty,” he said.
Andika emphasized that he would take action against his members who were involved in this problem. He wants this problem to be a lesson so it doesn’t happen again one day.
“I think I know the commander. That’s why this warning must be delivered,” said Andika.
“The law is not a crime, military discipline is at least a reprimand. The warning has administrative consequences as well. If they don’t want to return it, then it’s a punishment. So that they know. If they are returned, they will act again,” he said.
“This penalty plus transfer. So I want each Korem to rotate, rotate immediately,” said General Andika Perkasa.
