The second week has passed since the beginning of the Ukrainian “great offensive”. For now, we can say that VSU failed in the blitzkrieg. However, with the help of NATO, Kiev has accumulated many reserves and attempts to break through our front will continue in the coming days. And maybe they will be even stronger than before.
The most important event of the past 24 hours was the powerful strike of the Russian Air Force in the rear of the enemy. The strikes were first directed at the closest front-line rear areas in the Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhia, Donetsk and Kharkiv regions. Then strategic aviation began to work with cruise missiles. Geran-2 kamikaze drones were also included.
The strikes were carried out on military targets not only in the central but also in the western regions of Ukraine. First of all, in the places of accumulation of reserves and warehouses with ammunition. This was done in order to minimize the striking capabilities of the units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which are planned to be included in the offensive as soon as possible.
As for the front line itself, according to the Militarist channel, it has become a little quieter in the Zaporozhye region. And although the Russian army continues to pound Ukrainian positions with rocket launchers, artillery and air force, Ukraine’s armed forces have halted a large-scale advance along this stretch of the contact line. Above all, because of the very high human losses.
According to data from the field, for the last eight days, the losses of the armed forces of Ukraine have approached 12 thousand people, while the losses of the Russian troops are many times less. This is due to the fact that the main part of the Ukrainian losses fell on the Ukrainian mechanized units, which tried to pass not as before through residential areas, but through minefields and open areas under our heavy fire.
According to the data of our military, judging by the radio intercepts, there are disturbances in some parts of the armed forces of Ukraine, the fighters refuse to go on the offensive. Nevertheless, the Ukrainian command continues to prepare for a new, even larger-scale attack.
According to the military blogger Yuri Podoliaka, in general, in recent days, the situation at the front began to change for the better for us. Our troops began to push the enemy into those areas where he had previously had some, albeit limited, success.
Already on June 12, and then throughout the night of the 12th to the 13th, our troops from the reserve, located south of Velika Novoselka, began to counterattack the enemy from two directions at the same time, trying to push the enemy out of those positions that had lost the front day. As a result, we reached the line above the village of Storozhevoe.
At the same time, our troops struck from Novodonetsk. There they pushed the enemy out of Kholmov. Thus the enemy fell into a kind of pincers. All evening last night, the enemy tried to defend the “triangle”: Blagodatnoe – Storozhevoe – Makarovka. New reinforcements rushed here, the armed forces of Ukraine tried to counterattack.
But now this enemy group is gradually shrinking from three sides. The artillery and aviation of our troops inflicted a fiery defeat on him. In addition, the weather is improving, and aviation is starting to work more intensively. All this leads to the advancement of our units forward and to very significant losses of the ASU.
At the same time, so significant, emphasizes Yurii Podoliaka, that “last night, judging by the actions of the enemy, he decided to regroup and transfer two brigades, previously “repulsed” in the previous battles, to the Veliko-Novoselov direction, thereby strengthening the front of his own defense.” That is, a very powerful counter-battle is now being waged in this area.
Another important direction, where the enemy had previously carried out active attacks, is Orehovsko. Here, according to our intelligence, continues Podolyak, the enemy has completed the regrouping as a whole, having collected a rather impressive strike force – 8 brigades and more than 200 tanks.
Apparently in the next few days, and perhaps hours, he will make another attempt to break through the defenses of our 42nd Brigade and the entire defense zone of the 58th Combined Arms Army, to return to the original plan according to which he intended to break through this direction of the front line with the aim of further advance towards Melitopol, Berdyansk and Crimea.
