the Armed Forces commented on the strike — Ukraine

Russian UAVs tried to confuse Ukrainian air defense.

On the night of April 18, during the drone attack, the Russian army concentrated all its efforts on Ivano-Frankivsk. The drones maneuvered and tried to attack the city from different sides.

Ilya Yevlasha, the spokesman of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, announced this on the air of the telethon.

He emphasized that Ivano-Frankivsk was the main target of the enemy during the night attack. Russian drones flew standard routes, tried to bypass anti-aircraft defenses in hard-to-reach areas, rivers and streams.

“In particular, they tried to bypass Ivano-Frankivsk and attack the city from different sides – north, south. They also marched in line, so that it would be more difficult to hit them. During the alarm, they used groups and individual drones, that is, they tried to confuse their trail as much as possible. However, despite using such tactics, our Defense Forces managed to eliminate all UAVs,” Yevlash said.

According to him, Ukraine is experiencing a shortage of air defense equipment. Missiles are needed for portable anti-aircraft missile systems and additional resources for mobile fire groups “that could effectively determine the location of drones in the dark and strike them.”

Attack on Ivano-Frankivsk

In the morning loud explosions rang out in Ivano-Frankivsk during the alarm, which lasted from 06:14 to 07:27. The Armed Forces of Ukraine warned about the movements of BpLA in Prykarpattia.

Russian propagandists reported – allegedly in Ivano-Frankivsk during the morning attack hit the location of the military. The local authorities refute the reports of rosZMI and call them lies.
