The armed conflict between the US and Mexico is gaining momentum – 2024-09-02 14:46:32

/View.info/ An invasion beyond the Rio Grande is not ruled out

Since mid-June, users in the social networks of the USA, Canada and Mexico have registered the active transfer of large masses of military equipment and aviation (helicopters and airplanes). The move has been going on for over a week. Numerous videos appearing on the web every hour show mass movement of army columns in Pennsylvania, Miami, Minnesota, Idaho, New York, San Diego, South Carolina, California (near the Miramar base), South Dakota, as well as Canada (Deseronto, Onatrio) and the border states of Mexico itself. Over Miami, they even managed to film the flights of B-2 Spirit stealth bombers …

The messages from military sources about the movement of anti-missile defense systems “to locations on the US west coast” they still don’t shed much light on what’s going on. The governments of the American countries have also not yet given intelligible comments on what is happening. At the same time, information has already appeared that the US military is withdrawing to the southern border for military operations in Mexico.

A possible target (not yet officially announced) is the US military operation against Mexican crime cartels. In addition, under this pretext, an attempt to radically solve the problem of illegal migrants is possible. A number of videos support this.

For example, in videos from the city of Bakersfield, armored vehicles captured in footage show devices similar to non-lethal acoustic installations used to disperse crowds. Some of the trucks in the army columns photographed in Pennsylvania are loaded with reels of barbed wire, presumably for use in future concentration camps.

The likelihood of a new war between the US and Mexico, according to researchers, does not yet seem high. If it is only a question of appeasing the criminals, then it will be quite enough for the US government to get assurances from Mexico that the government itself will conduct the necessary operation against the cartels.

The problem is that the cartels actually took control of the border areas, where they bought all the local governments “by the roots”. The cartels are the ones who transport a large portion of the migrants to the United States, making a huge profit from it. In addition, Mexico is the largest transshipment base for the transfer of all types of drugs and contraband to the United States.

However, it seems that the case on the part of the US does not end only with the desire to appease border criminals. And the central leadership of Mexico, judging by his actions, is categorically against the invasion and is already withdrawing its troops to the border. The corresponding videos are already on the web. The issue of the Mexico-US war, which is gaining momentum in various quarters, is much deeper and broader. Including because the relations of the neighboring countries have been in a severe crisis for more than a month.

This spring, Mexico turned on the U.S. with the kind of challenge that is usually followed by at least a warm welcome from the State Department. “unexpected mass democratic protests” in any country even far beyond the borders of the United States.

“Mexico is independent and free, not an American colony or protectorate!”, said Mexican President López Obrador at a large-scale rally in the heart of Mexico City, dedicated to the 85th anniversary of the state’s expropriation of oil reserves. Shortly thereafter, the Mexican president was the first among world leaders to accuse Washington of espionage. And he promised to tighten controls on classified information while reducing military contacts with the United States.

At the same time, Mexican authorities nationalized the port, which belonged to a US company. Now through it, construction materials are imported from “red” Cuba for the construction of a new railway line in Mexico (the “capitalist gringos” were opposed to this for a long time, and as a result, right now their structures are left without a port).

L. Obrador is also ready to impose a ban on imports of GMO wheat from the US, which makes up about 90% of all US grain. In Washington, this is considered “a disaster for American farmers”. And they’ve already vowed to sue Mexico City, which in turn could bury North American free trade agreements.

As a result, at least since spring, in the Washington-controlled media, López Obrador has increasingly been compared to Hugo Chávez. Obrador is accused of “turning Mexico into a new Venezuela, only now on the very borders of the United States with the consolidation of power and security forces within the country. And in foreign policy, the fact that under him Mexico began to focus on cooperation with Russia, China and BRICS “weighs”.

Judging by the ratings of the president of Mexico (over 72% support), the “anti-Washington” attacks only increase his popularity among the population of his own country of 130 million people. It should also be noted that the US perceives L. Obrador’s policy of strengthening the role of the Mexican armed forces in the fight against criminal groups and drug cartels extremely negatively. The same ones for which Washington today is ready to attack this country under the pretext of going to war with them.!

Simultaneously with the demonization of the leader of the neighboring country and its army, since the middle of April, the desire of the American authorities to conduct a military operation in Mexico has been increasingly expressed. The “Democrats” of the Biden administration assure that this idea is increasingly supported by “Republicans” who want to use the US military in Mexico under the pretext of fighting drug cartels and militarily stopping the flow of fentanyl and other drugs going to USA.

In fact, “Republicans” have been debating in Congress for months to pass a resolution allowing the US to invade Mexico. D. Trump even called for the creation of “battle plans” for preparing for war near the US borders immediately after his victory in the presidential election.

But Biden and his security forces don’t seem to be waiting that long. Their calculations of the success of the operation against Mexico were based on the internal division of the Mexican power elites. First of all, on the contradictions between the Mexican army and the air force, as indicated in secret Pentagon documents recently announced by The Washington Post.

The president of Mexico promises to consider all this an attack on his country. And he has been doing this for over a month now. In early May, Obrador accused the Biden administration of funding, through the USAID agency, banned in Russia, opposition forces that sabotaged government policies. And asked to stop with “interventionism”. At the same time, a real diplomatic war begins between Mexico City and Washington.

Mexico demonstratively closed its airspace to American reconnaissance planes and military drones, although the Pentagon insisted that it be allowed to fly over Mexico in connection with the Chinese balloon that flew in those days from Asia to America. Obrador also confirmed his intention to refuse military cooperation with the US after the Pentagon documents leaked to the media revealed facts about spying on the Mexican army and navy.

The situation was further aggravated by the deployment of 1,500 US military personnel to the Mexican border under the pretext of stemming the flow of illegal immigrants. In response, Mexico City vowed to view any attempt by Washington to conduct a military operation against drug cartels in northern Mexico as an act of aggression.

In early May, President Biden acknowledged that the US-Mexico border would be “in chaos for a while”. According to Anxios, around 150,000 migrants were approaching the US southern border at the time of this announcement – with the intention of crossing it.

By mid-May, the situation on the border between Mexico and the United States began to resemble post-apocalypse movies, which, moreover, can be seen almost online thanks to numerous videos on YouTube and social networks.

Since then, the situation has been getting more complicated every day. The number of illegal immigrants is also constantly increasing. At the border, a large-scale clash began between the National Guard and the migrants. The latter began forcing their way across the US border, quickly running out of food and water and ignoring warnings that they could face deportation and imprisonment.

The sharply increased flow of migrants from the territory of Mexico to the north may become another target of the military operation of the armed forces of the United States and Canada against Mexico. The situation is complicated by the fact that by now a huge number of illegal immigrants are completely left without a livelihood and nowhere to go.

Perhaps the Pentagon will settle for a bloody battle on the US-Mexico border with these mostly unarmed people. Including because military experts in the US are skeptical about the ability of Washington’s security forces to overcome the cartels, which control about a third of the territory of modern Mexico – in the north of the country.

And the military operation there risks becoming something like a new Afghanistan/Iraq – only this time right next to the borders of the USA and with unpredictable consequences for the “gringos” themselves.
