The outbreak had caused him left hand mutilations, semi-amputation of three fingers, and loss of skeletal support of the others. His colleagues only suffered a few injuries and were promptly discharged.
But Pierry’s situation soon worsened. The July 10, 1992 he entered the hospital, underwent four operations in 20 days and the last one could not overcome it, since suffered a cardiorespiratory arrest. The actor’s family – who made his theater debut with Pepe Cibrián and shared the stage with Antonio Gasalla – was surprised by the death and soon Rumors began about possible malpractice, medication inconveniences, and there was even talk of excess anesthesia.
The truth is that the only concrete thing, outside of those rumors, was the death of the actor. The July 29, 1992 at age 37 the artist lost his life and days later his remains were taken to the Pantheon of the Buenos Aires Actors Association in the Chacarita Cemetery. For obvious reasons, the Telefé strip never came to light.
