Jakarta –
Apple is said to be overhauling the appearance of the Apple Watch through an update watchOS version 10. Apart from appearance, there will be significant additions to the OS.
watchOS 10 will be officially released at WWDC 2023 next June, which is confirmed to start on June 5. The WWDC event is usually used by Apple to release various new operating systems, be it macOS, iOS, iPadOS, to watchOS.
The appearance change rumors for the Apple Watch were spread by Mark Gurman of Bloomberg. The main reason is that the appearance of watchOS has not changed for a long time.
In the past few years, Apple has only added new features to watchOS, without any significant interface changes. Plus, this year is watchOS’ 10th anniversary, which could be Apple’s main reason for making such an overhaul.
“I believe the new watchOS will receive a major upgrade, with the most pronounced changes in the interface, unlike iOS 17. This is an important year for watchOS because hardware-wise there have been no major changes for the Apple Watch.
Previously, Gurman also said that iOS 17 would only get a few additional interesting features, without any major changes. The reason, according to Gurman, iOS 17 is actually intended as an update to fix bugs and performance, quoted detikINET from 9to5Mac, Monday (3/4/2023).
This is because Apple is said to be shifting its focus to xrOS, the operating system for mixed reality headsets which will reportedly be released at WWDC 2023. According to Gurman, the headset has been exhibited internally to Apple executives, which is an indication that the headset is ready to be exhibited to the public.
