Users of watchOS 11, the new firmware for Apple watches, have found an unexpectedly useful option. The Vitals application built into the OS provided them with information about pre-existing diseases.

Reddit users noticedthat the watch alerted them several times of unusual health symptoms. So, they told the author of the post under the nickname dalethomas81 about an elevated body temperature for three nights in a row.

On the fourth night, the user had noticeable cold symptoms. At the same time, he admitted that he was feeling good a few days before the start of his sick leave.

Other Apple Watch owners reported similar experiences. In total, the post on Reddit received more than 2 thousand likes and more than 200 comments.

It turned out that the application Vitals (in Russian – “Basic signs”) is responsible for a useful function that allows you to prepare for the disease and start preventive treatment. It works in the background, analyzing heart rate, breathing rate, wrist temperature, blood oxygen saturation and other indicators. You can find the corresponding Vitals tab in the Health app on your iPhone.
