It might seem that we are used to the specific Apple pricing. Well, Tim Cook’s company can still surprise us, unfortunately… negatively. Charger prices are a good example MagSafe Duo and leather case for iPhone.
Apple is promoting a new brand of accessories
Together iPhone’ami 12 debuted MagSafe accessories. They use a set of magnets placed under the rear panel cover of new Cupertino smartphones. Thanks to this, they stick to the housing without the need to use additional hooks, and in the case of wireless chargers, it is much easier to find the perfect location of the iPhone on the charging surface.
Apple’s offer now includes quite an interesting set of accessories – various types of cases, chargers, and even a card wallet. Unfortunately, although they look quite interesting, usually their price is not very attractive. Moreover, a smartphone can already be purchased for the price of some accessories. Yes, a low-end one, but still.
MagSafe Duo and a really expensive case
The already available add-ons for iPhones that use the MagSafe solution have just been joined by new ones. Currently, they cannot be ordered yet, but thanks to the presence in the Apple online store, we got to know their official price.
The first accessory is wireless charger MagSafe Duowhich allows you to charge two devices at the same time. As Apple itself informs, the charger can be used to replenish the energy in the iPhone, Apple Watch, AirPods and other Qi-compatible devices. Price? Well, exactly PLN 679!
Unfortunately, buy MagSafe Duo does not necessarily mean the end of expenses. The charger is sold without a power supply, and the recommended 20W is 100 PLN. In total, we can pay up to PLN 779. I must admit that a lot.
Apple’s offer includes a single MagSafe charger for PLN 199. Interestingly, buying two separate chargers will be cheaper than choosing MagSafe Duo – PLN 400 for chargers and possibly PLN 200 for two 20W power supplies. In total, it is approximately PLN 600.
Let’s move on to the second accessory, i.e. leather case for iPhone 12. Apple mentions that leather case with MagSafe for iPhone allows you to enjoy the beautiful design of the device, and at the same time provides it with excellent protection. Well, how much does such visual pleasure cost? Exactly PLN 629.
Finally, for people who decide to buy the aforementioned case, I decided to leave an “interesting” description on the official Apple support website.
It refers to MagSafe chargers as well Magsafe Duo and reads as follows:
If your iPhone is left in the leather case while using the MagSafe charger, round dents may be reflected in the leather. This is normal, but if it bothers you, we suggest using a non-leather case.
