The apocalypse is here: WhatsApp groups with 1,000 users

WhatsApp has begun to implement the possibility of adding more than a thousand participants to group chats, a feature already available for some beta testers of the iOS and Android version.

In June of this year, the company announced that it was already possible to create groups with up to 512 participants, a feature that has reached not only the mobile version of the application, but also the desktop mode.

Until then, WhatsApp only allowed the creation of groups of up to 256 participants, which was reflected in the group information section. Also, with this expansion, the “app” has given users the opportunity to add more people from this space once the group is created.

Now WABetaInfo has indicated that the instant messaging application has again extended the limit of participants to a conversation, as it is now possible to create groups of up to 1,024 people.

This portal experienced this new capability when creating a group, because where before it put 512 in the ‘Add participants’ space, now the number has been changed.

Most users have not yet been able to test this new feature, as it is only available to some beta testers of the Meta service, both on iOS and Android.
