The construction of Marina City has started, the XIII. new residential buildings and offices will be built on 14 hectares in the Danube-side part of the district in the coming years in the investment of Cordia International, the residential real estate development company of the Futureal group – the groundbreaking ceremony was held today.

The new part of the city will be realized in the area behind the Duna Plaza, in a special development area bordered by a 1.2-kilometer stretch directly along the Danube, in Cordia’s investment, where the development company will spend HUF 20 billion on public interest investments. “This is the largest amount ever allocated by a private company to finance a public benefit investment in Hungary,” emphasized Gábor Futó, co-owner of Futureal, at the event.
More than 2,500 apartments are being built in the Marina City area,
which are surrounded by 90,000 square meters of green space.
The Hungarian real estate development company is at the forefront of urban renewal developments, as it was both the dreamer and the implementer of the project that resulted in the complete rebirth of the Corvin quarter.
In comparison:
- 3,000 apartments were built along the Corvin promenade
- gross on 200,000 square meters,
- while 23,000 square meters of public space were also renewed in the investment of the Futureal group.
About fourteen hectares of a former industrial area in Budapest would be rehabilitated. The new part of the city would also have a kilometer-long section along the Danube.
A subsidiary of Futureal, Cordia the Marina City plan announced a long time ago, the only question was the start date, the development plans were ready to start and waiting for the right time.

The start of the gigantic project in Pest also reflects the belief in the acceleration of the new housing market, and not without reason: the apartments of the first phase have already been sold.
The Corvin Promenade also needed a vision, as for the development of the most slum area of Budapest, where the possibilities inherent in the area’s features had to be seen
– reminded Gábor Futó. Said:
after the Covin Promenade and South Buda, they ran out of challenges, that’s when the Marina beach came into the picture.
Dreaming of Marina City was not such a challenge, since the most valuable part of Budapest is the Danube bank, which until now has been a missed opportunity.

In the area purchased from CIB Bank, on the site of the former shipyard and crane factory
- 30 percent will be covered by green areas, with airy construction,
- 45-65 meter high green and smart buildings with 30 percent built-in,
- Duna Plaza is also expanding and renewing through the new city district,
- the area will be raised, which will rise out of the area as a dam, flood protection is already solved without this

The XIII. district prepares to welcome those moving here,
kindergartens are now being renovated, the first smart kindergarten will open in the fall, nursery renovations have begun, and a new family doctor’s office has been built nearby, which will be expanded – summed up Mayor József Tóth, adding: Cordia has arrived at the right place.
The company group has already built 40,000 square meters of office space and 1,500 apartments in XIII. in the district, i.e. it does not arrive in an unknown area.
More than a thousand people have already applied for the project, which debuted today, the first phase has already been sold, and the second phase is also starting.
