Who wants the skin of the anti-PFAS law? Supported by the environmentalist deputy Nicolas Thierry, a bill provides for the ban, from 2026, on the manufacture and sale of certain products containing eternal pollutants (cosmetics, textiles). Las, “the supporters of the Barnier government are doing everything to postpone the discussion”denounced the Girondin elected official in a press release.
This text was adopted at first reading by the National Assembly then by the Senate. The parliamentarians had also watered down the original text a little, sparing kitchen utensils with non-stick coatings – the famous Teflon pan.
All that was missing was a final discussion at the Palais Bourbon – and a final vote by the deputies – for the text to be adopted. The Green MP proposed that the debate take place before the end of the year. Except that according to him, “the groups Ensemble pour la République, Horizons and Droite Républicaine opposed it”.
Other anti-green texts were included in the parliamentary agenda, such as the proposal from MP Jean-Luc Fugit on pesticide spraying by drones. “This says a lot about the ecological ambition [de la droite et des macronistes] »criticized Nicolas Thierry.
The public health challenge is immense. These eternal pollutants, present in many everyday objects, can cause hormonal disruptions, fertility disorders, disruptions to the immune system, and have carcinogenic effects.
He’s back.
In a few weeks, Donald Trump will return to the White House.
A billionaire, for whom global warming is “a hoax”, will be at the head of the greatest power in the world.
In a crucial decade for ecology, we cannot afford to waste any more time.
Civil society must continue to rise up, mobilize and put pressure on the powerful.
But to act, you have to know.
We are convinced that the ecological emergency is the major issue of our time.
And like more than 2 million readers each month, you undoubtedly share this conviction…
So if you have the means, know that a donation, even of €1, is a strong act of support for ecology and independent journalism.
(And it will take you less time than reading this text).
If you can, choose monthly support. THANKS.
