25 years ago, in 1997, the romantic film “Titanic” was released on the big screens. It is a tragic story of two young men who met on a giant ship and fell in love, but tragedy struck and the ship sank, only one of them managed to escape. For years, many people have speculated that at the film’s climax, both Rose and Jack could have survived.
The biggest debate among people is that when the ship was sinking, Rose escaped from the icy water on the wooden door and thus survived. Jack, meanwhile, was in the water, misplaced on the wooden door, freezing to death.
Watching the movie, many people have expressed over the years that the wooden door was big enough for the two of them to stand on and survive. There are also various photos circulating online where people have depicted the positions the couple had to be in in the doorway to keep their balance and survive.
Several years ago, Discovery Channel’s “Mythbuster” claimed the two young men could have survived if they had strapped Rose’s life jacket to the wooden door, reports CBS News.
However, the director of the film, James Cameron, after this announcement in 2012, stated that it was not meant to be, Jack had to die.
Finally, after 25 years, an answer has been found. Thanks to the film’s director, there was a study that revealed the truth if Jack was able to save himself.
“We’ve done a scientific study to sort this whole thing out,” Cameron told the media. The director explains that a thorough forensic analysis was also carried out, involving hypothermia experts. The studio created a raft identical to the one Roza was on. Two stuntmen equaled the weight of Kate Winslet and Leonardo DiCaprio. The stuntmen had special sensors attached to their bodies and were placed in ice cold water. Various methods were used to test whether the two lovers could survive.
But how is it in reality? Will they both be able to survive?
“There was no way either of them could survive,” Cameron said. “Only one could survive.”
