“Knights of fortune” was nominated for this year’s short film at the Oscars, but lost. Instead, Roald Dahl and Wes Anderson’s “The wonderful story of Henry Sugar” with Benedict Cumbarbatch won.

But Leif Andrée, who plays the main role in “Knights of fortune”, still had an experience at the gala and the red carpet in Los Angeles.

It started with him being interviewed by a Danish journalist.

But Andrée had trouble understanding the expression “the red runner”.

– Once more, what was it on, Leif Andrée wondered.

He had it explained to him that it means “red carpet”.

– Yes, okay. It’s okay, he then replied.

In TV4’s “Nyhetsmorgon” Leif Andrée told about the funny misunderstanding.

– The Danes speak a language that we… sometimes understand. But they understand us.

– I didn’t realize it was the “red carpet”. Then he said it, then I said it was fantastic.

“A horrible experience”

He describes being at the Oscars as a “once in a lifetime” experience – but still wasn’t 100 percent impressed.

– In a way, it was a terrible experience. There were about 1000 journalists there with cameras. It took forever and was hot as hell. Incredible, like a tent.

He appreciated that there were free drinks.

– But no food! Small little slices, small as an old dime. You got really hungry, says Leif Andrée in “Nyhetsmorgon”.
