The new old Deputy Minister of Agriculture Lozana Vasileva was a guest at the Raspberry Festival in Loznica
Over 2,700 ha are the areas with raspberries and strawberries applied for direct support for the campaigns in the last two years. Raspberry production takes into account the sustainability of the harvested areas, and the annual production is close to 5700 tons. A gradual increase in the average yield is also observed, and for 2023 it is 360 kg/ha. These data were announced by the Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food Dr. Lozana Vasileva at the official opening of the 9th National Specialized Exhibition for Berries and Raspberry Festival 2024 in Loznitsa.
The financial support for producers is under the interventions for linked income support for fruit and greenhouse production, as well as under the eco-scheme for ecological maintenance of permanent plantations, in which increased interest has been observed this year. During the new program period, farmers have the opportunity to benefit from support under various interventions from the Strategic Plan for the Development of Agriculture and Rural Areas 2023-2027.
Deputy Minister Vasileva went through the berry stands, talking to farmers from all over the country. Traditional foods, juices, marmalades, wines, soft drinks and other products were presented.
Within the framework of the event, experts from the Ministry of Agriculture and the DF “Agriculture” explained to farmers the conditions for applying for the targeted intake for irrigation under sub-measure 4.1 and sub-measure 4.2 of the Program for the Development of Rural Areas 2014-2020. The possibilities for support under investment measures were outlined from the Strategic Plan for the Development of Agriculture and Rural Areas, as well as in the field of direct payments. The eased conditions for farmers in the application of the Standards for good agricultural and ecological condition were discussed.
