Mayra Mukhamedkyzy, one of Kazakhstan’s brightest and most important opera singers, celebrated her 30th anniversary on the stage of the Astana Opera with a huge, sold-out concert sponsored by the Ministry of Culture and Information Republic of Kazakhstan , Zakon.kz reports.
Among the many honored guests was the Minister of Culture and Information in the Republic of Kazakhstan, Aida Balaeva. Also, on behalf of the head of state Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, a large basket of roses was brought on stage in honor of the special talent of the singer.

Mayra Mukhamedkyzy presented a special program to the audience that included works from the world and national repertoire. The opera diva performed arias from operas by great composers such as Richard Strauss, Franz Liszt, Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, as well as works by Kazakh authors, which gave the performance a special national flavor.

Together with the symphony orchestra and choir of Astana Opera, under the direction of conductor A. Mukhitdin and Madi Omirzak, the concert became a living image of many years of creativity of Mayra Mukhamedkyzy.

The number “Olieb, solangduliebenkannst”, which the famous singer performed with her long-time friend Temirzhan Yerzhanov from the USA, is especially worth noting. It caused great excitement among the audience. And the haunting performance of arias from operas by Georges Bizet, Charles Gounod and Giuseppe Verdi made it possible to show the full emotional depth and artistry of Mayra Mukhamedkyzy. Stormy applause also followed the clip “O Fortuna” from “Carmina Burana” by Carl Orff, accompanied by a symphony orchestra and choir.

The creative path of Mayra Mukhamedkyza is not just 30 years on the stage, but 30 years of dedication to art. Honored Artist of the Republic of Kazakhstan, winner of many awards and winner of prestigious awards, she has represented Kazakh opera art on the world stage for many years. Her amazing skill, clear charisma and dedication to her work have earned her the love and recognition of the public not only in Kazakhstan, but also beyond its borders.

The performance, directed by Mikhail Panjavidze, also featured the theater’s children’s choir, principal ballet musicians of the Astana Opera Anel Rustemova, Olzhas Tarlanov, Dias Kurmangazy, famous Kazakh artists Oraz Mukhamedyar, Zhumabek Kantarbayev, Aibek Kanatbek, Ramina Satybaldy and many others.
The gala night, which was a kaleidoscope of the entire musical activity of the singer over these three decades, ended with a grand finale – a scene from the opera “Domalak Ana” by T. Zharmukhamet. The last note of the evening will be remembered for a long time by everyone who witnessed this unique cultural event.
