A child was in danger when he fell into a stream of rainwater this Friday, September 24, in Edén Xolhuitz, Nuevo San Carlos, Retalhuleu.
In a shared video it is observed when the minor, whose age is unknown, was dragged by the current of a drain, fortunately, relatives and neighbors rescued him.

In a second the situation changed, as it fell into the water which alerted people who realized what had happened.
Every second was vital to act, as people reacted immediately and managed to save the child.
So far in 2021, relief agencies have reported that people have been swept away by rivers or currents caused by rain, in most cases they have died.
The National Coordinator for Disaster Reduction (Conred) in its recent damage count reported that the 2021 rainy season has left 29 people dead in the national territory. Also 17 injured.
