Yesterday, Timrå IK announced that they are firing Georgina Farman, the women’s team’s coach and sports director. According to the club, it is happening because of spent trust. It has raised strong opinions with most of the players in the team.

It was yesterday that Timrå IK announced on its website that it fires Georgina Farman from her duties as sports director and coach. This must be due to a spent confidence, according to a message on the club’s website.
On Monday evening, a meeting was held with the squad where the club manager in Timrå, Johan Sundberg, informed the players of the decision to fire Farman.
After that, most of the players left the meeting in protest.
– It was a meeting where the club manager stood and read from inside. Four A4 pages why Georgina had to leave and smeared her in front of everyone. It was more like a personal attack against a person who wasn’t even allowed to be there to defend himself, says player Julia Kaldensjö to SVT Sports.
“Packed up and left”
Kaldensjö says that only four players stayed at the meeting. According to the forward, it is a group of four players who have wanted to remove Farman because they are unhappy with their playing time.
While she can understand the dissatisfaction of these players, she thinks there is a lack of self-awareness. That it is a competitive situation in the team that makes it difficult to get playing time.
The forward also says that the girls who left the meeting in protest think that the way Timrå’s management has handled the whole situation is not dignified. She adds that they do not want to represent such a club.

Timrå, which is last in the table, plays its next match against league leaders Skellefteå on Saturday. However, it is currently unclear which players will be included.
– If I were to choose to continue representing Timrå, I would be ashamed. Those four girls and the new management can play against Skellefteå, so we’ll see how it goes, says Julia Kaldensjö to SVT Sport.
