She joined the department in January 2021, shortly after Trump left office, as chief of staff for the department’s Office of Civil Rights.
Kamala Harris had already appointed Nasrina Barakzi, an American lawyer of Afghan origin, to communicate with Muslim Americans.
According to the website Axios, Harris’ strategy can be summed up in three goals: to be better than Donald Trump in working on the ground, staying at the forefront of news headlines, and election campaigns strong that her chances of winning could be improved through more contact with voters, and Biden’s deputy has already begun to take those steps, as her schedule is full this week, starting with a bus trip to south Georgia, sitting for her first interview as a presidential candidate and making preparations for her first debate against Trump on.
