US Ambassador to Moscow John Sullivan left Russia currently after finishing his diplomatic phrase. This was stated in a notice by the American embassy in Russia, quoted by the AFP.
Sullivan, 62, was appointed ambassador to Moscow in December 2019.
“On his departure, he will conclusion a career in community service that will span four decades and 5 US presidents,” the embassy explained in a press launch.
“Elizabeth Rudd will believe her obligations as Chargé d’affaires at the US Embassy in Moscow pending the arrival of Ambassador Sullivan’s successor.”
The embassy did not give more details.
Sullivan was assistant secretary of state in the course of Donald Trump’s presidency and has held several senior positions in the departments of justice, defense and commerce throughout his profession.
His departure arrives at a time when US-Russian relations are at the coldest position considering the fact that the Chilly War, AF commented.
