He had been left in January in his miniature castle that he made himself, on the edge of the Touch, in Tournefeuille. It is now found on an island of sand, on the banks of the Garonne, near the Parc des Quinze Sols in Beauzelle. Shorter hair, tanned mine, David seems in good shape. At 54, this self-proclaimed homeless moved here more than three months ago, still in a mini-moss castle, but smaller this time. The fault of transport on the Garonne. “I lost part of the structure passing waterfalls, including two walls and the roof. I’m doing all that again, ”confirms David, who arrived here pulling his mini-castle, placed on a raft, with his kayak.
A home to which he remains very attached. “Already because it keeps me warm. Then, it allows me to establish contacts quickly with people. Where I was before, in Tournefeuille, in two weeks, I connected with more people than in 30 years, when I lived in an apartment, ”he explains. And he managed to live comfortably from his activities with the children, “but my goal is not to resettle myself somewhere either”, he specifies. In addition, David had made a commitment to the town hall of Tournefeuille to leave his old location “mid-April”. What he did. He chose this island in Beauzelle “because it is difficult to access”, in particular because of the strong currents that surround it. Happy but penniless
For three months he has been living alone on his piece of sand, “without being bothered by anyone”, David still realized that he “lost words. Solitude is good, as well as reading a book a day, but it has its limits because I no longer have an income. Indeed, since he has been here, in Beauzelle, David no longer leads workshops because access to the site does not allow it, he no longer sells figurines either. “Which means that I no longer earn any money”. Also, David plans to leave very quickly.
