The Amal Movement issued the following statement: “Amel Mountain was the foundation from which the cries of rejection and uprising to confront the Israelis, injustice, and submission were launched. This lofty mountain, engraved on the pages of its history of struggle, was its steadfastness and valiant resistance, starting from the Ottoman Sultanate, passing through the French Mandate, all the way to the Israeli army. It formed An exceptional stage in all historical stages, and during this stage in particular, which southern Lebanon continues to face with all challenge and determination with the Israeli army, and in all ways, regardless of its religious, cultural, and military resistance titles, it constitutes a stark example in confronting the Israelis through the blessed Ashura Intifada in the city of Nabatieh, Which constitutes one of the titles of our struggle.”
He added, “The scholars of Jabal Amel throughout history had and continue to have bold and honorable stances in confronting injustice and the Israelis, from Imam Sayyid Abdul Hussein Sharaf al-Din, to the leader Imam Sayyed Musa al-Sadr, who planted the seeds of resistance that produced victory and liberation, and the Sheikh of the Martyrs, Sheikh Ragheb Harb, and a group of scholars who They died as martyrs at the hands of the Israelis or were detained in its prisons, including the imam of the city of Nabatieh, the scholar Sheikh Abdul Hussein Sadiq, who constitutes a model in confronting the Israeli army and a confrontation in the Ashura Intifada. The statement continued, “The Amal Movement, while rejecting any insult to His Eminence Sheikh Sadiq and the venerable scholars in Lebanon and Iraq, considers it its duty to shed light on this scholarly figure due to his scientific value, and strongly condemns any insult to this religious and militant figure.”
