The career of a famous singer was almost cut down in the bud.
The songs for the television movie “Breakfast on the Grass” became real hits in the early eighties. Few people know that Nikolai Rastorguev was originally supposed to be the performer of these songs. But his vocals were rejected and another performer was invited.
In the frame, the song “Golden Fish” was performed by the hero of Sergei Prokhanov, and Evgeny Golovin recorded it together with the vocal and instrumental ensemble “Six Young”. It was in this VIA that the future leader of the Lyube group, Nikolai Rastorguev, began his career.
All the music for the film was written by the composer Vladimir Shainsky, and it was recorded by the Six Young Ensemble together with the children’s choir and the Goskino orchestra.
Shainsky was pleased with the result, but categorically rejected the male parts recorded by Rastorguev and other members of the group.
According to the master, in this form, songs would never have become popular, and the composer questioned the ability of Nikolai Rastorguev to sing.
