The XXVII edition of this festival will take place from November 4th to December 6th with the participation of 15 theater groups
The XXVII Amateur theater show of the Alpujarra will be held this year in the municipality of Almócita (Almeria) in the Municipal Theater. The festival will be held every weekend of November and December 1st (from November 4th to December 6th) and the works will be performed by 15 groupsnine of which belong to the province of
Almería and six, to that of Grenade.
The play was presented at the venue, in an appearance in the presence of the first vice president and deputy to the presidency, culture and historical and democratic memory, Fátima Gómez, the mayor of Almócita, Francisco García, and the president of the Auxarra Association, Adolfo Garcia de Viana.
The deputy indicated that this edition aims to “relaunch the activity of the Amateur Theater, after the pause due to the health emergency caused by Covid-19”, and specified that “in this case, coexistence between the peoples of The Alpujarras of Almería and Granada through the culture represented in the theater ”.
“This meeting takes place thanks to the Albuxarra Association and the councils of Almería and Granada, which together contribute to making it a success,” concluded Gómez.
For his part, the mayor of Almócita stressed that “the exhibition will mark a before and after in the city, because it will revitalize the city and promote the consolidation of groups working in the artistic field”.
Finally, the president of the Auxarra Association thanked “the great work done by each of the participating groups and by the councils of Almería and Granada, for their unconditional support”.
The organization of Amateur theater show from La Alpujarra It emerged in 1995, after verifying that there was a great interest in “comedy” and that there were several amateur theater groups. Each year it is held alternately in Almería and Granada.
