An armed man opened fire on Thursday morning in a Pôle Emploi agency in Valence, killing a counselor, before going to a company in Ardèche where he seriously injured a woman, who died of her injuries, indicates Le Dauphiné Libéré.
The suspect, originally from Nancy (Meurthe-et-Moselle) and aged 45, was arrested shortly after the facts at the Mistral bridge in Valence after a chase with the police. His motivations were not immediately known.
The individual first went to Valence at around 9 am within this Pôle emploi Victor-Hugo agency where he fatally injured a 53-year-old counselor.

He then went to “Faun Environnement”, a company specializing in waste collection located in Guilherand-Granges (Ardèche) where he shot a person, a 51-year-old employee of the human resources department. She was seriously injured. She was quickly taken care of by the fire brigade, but died of her injuries.
According to The Dauphiné Libéré, the man is a former employee. He was reportedly made redundant in 2010 and has not worked since.
He is unknown to the police, but an investigation is underway to see if there is a link to the murder on Tuesday of a human resources official killed by gunshot in Wolfgantzen, near Colmar (Haut-Rhin).

Pôle emploi agencies closed this Friday
All Pôle Emploi agencies will be closed to the public on Friday, management announced. However, the Pôle Emploi services remain accessible remotely.
