Renault Scenic dates back to 1996 and is one of the popular models of the French brand, which in 2021 was “taken over” by SUV fashion and, together with the larger Espace, received a final farewell. However, this does not prevent Renault from reviving these names again, and just as the Espace was reborn, the Scenic will now appear again on the market, and in an all-electric form.
We’ve already shown you footage of a camouflaged prototype several times, but now Renault have decided to share the secret with everyone and have revealed the production model, which again hides some of its design with camouflage, but still shows us more. The new Scenic E-Tech will be the bigger brother of the Megane E-Tech and will compete directly with cars like the VW ID.4, Hyundai Ioniq 5, Kia EV6, Ford Explorer EV and others in this class.
The Megane is available only with front-wheel drive, and its maximum power is 215 hp. The battery has a capacity of 60 kWh, but the Scenic’s powertrain will be more similar to that of Nissan’s Ariya, where up to 389 hp are available. and a 90 kWh battery.
Renault hasn’t released any dimensions for the new Scenic, but if the production car lives up to the concept, it will be 4,490mm long, making it noticeably larger than), and the higher roofline will increase interior volume. Unlike some previous versions of the older Scenics, however, the new one will only come with five rather than seven seats.
