The Alcázar de Jerez (Cádiz) hosts this Friday a special collection for World Blood Donor Day

JEREZ DE LA FRONTERA (CÁDIZ), March 25 (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Transfusion, Tissue and Cell Center (CTTC) of the province of Cádiz will celebrate Blood Donor Day this Friday with a special collection in the Alcázar of Jerez de la Frontera (entrance through the Alameda Vieja) in the morning – from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. – and in the afternoon – from 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.

As the Board has pointed out in a note, the blood that is obtained in this collection and these days will be very important for Holy Week, since this period is complicated because donations drop significantly as it is a vacation time in which many they have the opportunity to travel or simply stay in their city to enjoy their free time. However, Andalusian hospitals will continue to have patients who will need a blood transfusion to regain their health or even to save their lives.

For this reason, this event in the Alcázar has motivated its dissemination through social networks, neighborhood associations, through the Brotherhood of Blood Donors of Jerez, public and private institutions and educational centers. In addition, the CTTC will mobilize two doctors, three nurses and a driver on the day of the collection.

For its part, the Territorial Delegation of Health and Families has encouraged to collaborate in this initiative, appealing both the usual donors and those over 18 and under 65, with at least 50 kilos of weight and in good health, for them to do it for the first time.

In addition, he has reminded the population that they can go to donate blood to the Transfusion, Tissue and Cell Center itself, located in the Jerez University Hospital, and to the fixed point of the Puerta del Mar University Hospital in Cádiz.
