The Board of Trustees of the Fundación Democracia y Gobierno Local that was held this Monday at the Hotel Villa Rea in Madrid has approved the integration of the Diputación de Albacete as trustee of said Foundation, as well as the Consell Insular de Mallorca.
Previously, the Plenary of the Provincial Council (in the ordinary session on September 1) had unanimously approved the government team’s proposal to become part of this Foundation, with the aim of continuing to collaborate in network, asserting the essential role of Local Governments, promoting their institutional quality and their political leadership; making them more efficient for citizens in terms of provision of public services, as well as in their relations with the rest of the Administrations; and reinforcing its democratic legitimacy and citizen confidence.
With this integration, now fully formalized, the institution chaired by Santiago Cabañero remains firm in its commitment to work to defend the interests of the province of Albacete and those who live and develop in it, as well as in its desire to cooperate with the rest of the fabric (institutional, administrative, business and social) insofar as it implies economic and social progress in the territory.
