The Albacete Provincial Council closes ranks to fight against the coronavirus in its first telematic plenary session | Radio Albacete

The four political groups of the Diputación have given the approval of the actions of the government team against the coronavirus. It was this Friday in the first telematic plenary session of its history, by videoconference.

Through a proposal by the Popular Group, the Provincial Council has reviewed the measurements that they are already applying, in addition to approve more initiatives to face this health crisis, with four objectives:

  • Help the City Councils, in the disinfection of their municipal buildings, providing protection material and modifying the 2020 Budget to subsidize expenses of the municipalities related to this pandemic.
  • The social protection of citizens is also a priority, so the Provincial Council will allocate 100,000 euros, an amount that may be increased, to meet the basic expenses of the most vulnerable people. The possibility that the Dipualba Protege Program, with a budget of 10 million euros, can be developed online will also be studied.
  • The municipal tax payment schedule through Gestalba, such as the IBI or the road tax, is delayed and extended until August 5. These direct debit receipts will be charged during the first week of July. And these payments may be split until November, if requested.
  • And the services of autonomous organizations and consortia will be protected, providing the means of protection to the personnel of centers such as San Vicente de Paúl or La Unidad de Medio Estancia and increasing hiring. In addition, the Prevention Service will develop the measures for returning to work in the workplace, whenever possible.

All groups have had words of memory for the people deceased in this pandemic and for their relatives. The president of the County Council, Santiago Cabañero has announced that “the building of the Provincial Council will be illuminated in blue, as a tribute to health professionals.”
