Dylan Alejandro Portilla Torres’ story is for Netflix. And now that many are in quarantine, they would pacify him.
It is that what this 16-year-old experienced has all the ingredients to transform into a series, because his talent and sacrifice are taking him to the top of the world-world soccer elite.
It all started five years ago, when Lizardo Garrido discovered him in Coquimbo and asked his family to take him to the Monumental. “They gave him a test and he stayed, so he went to live at Casa Alba with only 11 years old,” recalled his father, Cristian Portilla, to La Cuarta.
Several lonely nights and more than some advice from his teachers helped Dylan overcome the distance and focus on his dreams. This was how the first of them fulfilled: integrate the Red Sub 15.
Real Madrid on the horizon
“It was there that last year he played against Brazil and it was there that Marcelo’s agency (Lifepro) saw him,” added his father. Information that is corroborated by the partner of the Real Madrid player in Brazil, Marcos Estanislau: “He played against my country and we saw potential in him. Then I had contact with his father and today we believe that it was the right time to sign a contract, ”he said.
But since things in Dylan’s life are not easy, it took a few months for the bond to materialize, which was absolutely sealed in recent weeks. “Imagine how we feel as a family when we found out that someone of that importance (Marcelo) was interested in our son. It is a tremendous pride! ”Confessed Don Cristian.
And Dylan jumped on one leg, because his dream is to play at the Santiago Bernabéu one day, but for this he must first consolidate with the Mapuche on his chest, just as his family dreams.
“We want to see him debut in professionalism with the Colo Colo shirt,” his dad wished, and his manager reaffirmed it: “We think he will work at Colo Colo and become a professional there, it is part of his growth.”
So sooner rather than later, Portilla will wet the Cacique’s in midfield or in defense, since the boy is multifunctional. As if to inspire a Netflix series …
