Humor for the whole audience and with a universal theme as the protagonist, fear. This is the cocktail with which the new season of the Alameda Theater kicks off on Wednesday 12 (at 12:30) with Paüra, a theatrical concert by the Valencian company Lucas Escobedo, finalist in the latest edition of the Max Awards in the categories of Best Musical or Opera Show and Best Musical Composition (by Raquel Molano), as well as being recognized as Best Circus Show at the 2012 Valencian Performing Arts Awards.

Thus, this hilarious show immerses itself in comedy, especially in the language of clowns, to face fear through laughter and poetry, so that it becomes a stepping stone to leap into the void and put us into action. To achieve this, live music and songs guide the audience through different moods, giving life to a collective ritual aimed at overcoming phobias that invites us to leave the theater full of courage and leave behind what we have. scares.

Paüra is also one of the works included in the state circuit ‘Circo a Escena’, a program promoted by the Institute of Performing Arts and Music (INAEM) and developed by the Spanish network of publicly owned Theaters, Auditoriums, Circuits and Festivals. The Alameda Theater was one of the selected spaces – the only one in Andalusia – in the second edition of this program to promote the circus arts and, thanks to this participation, it will host the staging of this show and Karpaty, by La Troupe Malabó, 11 and 12 December.

With Paüra begins a new season of the municipal theater, which includes a calendar of over 150 shows and activities with which the Alameda renews its social commitment to children, families and young people, addressing issues such as the new masculinity through the performing arts., Bullying scholastic and virtual, culture of peace, homophobia, migration, male chauvinism, poverty or violence. In addition to making visible the fears, aspirations and concerns of children and young people and transmitting values ​​such as solidarity, teamwork, tolerance, acceptance of diversity, awareness against exacerbated consumerism, the fight against climate change, etc.

In this way, between October and May, over 60 companies will cross its stages, with an important representation of Seville, which stand out for their contemporary proposals, with theatrical settings and languages ​​that help to stimulate the imagination of boys, girls and young people, giving space to different artistic disciplines: music, text and gestural theater, clowns, puppets or contemporary circus, among others.

Tickets for all shows can be purchased on the ICAS website, at the box office of the Lope de Vega Theater and one hour before each show, if the pre-sales are not sold out, at the box office of the Alameda Theater.

First concert of ‘Growing up with ROSS’

This first week of programming at the Alameda Theater will end with the first of the series of educational concerts for the family audience ‘Growing up with ROSS’, launched in collaboration with the Royal Symphony Orchestra of Seville and featuring popular stories.
