A kayaker has been retrieved from the river Smådøla in Lom after a kayak capsize. The condition of the paddler is unknown.

At 18.27, the Central Rescue Center South Norway writes that the kayaker has been retrieved from the river. The person has been flown to hospital, the police report.
– Fire crews, rescue helicopter Florø and alpine rescue group from Lom involved in the mission. Condition of kayakers unknown, writes HRS on Twitter.
There were two kayaks in the water, as well as other people following along the river, the police wrote on Twitter at 19:20.
– Crisis teams have been notified to take care of those who were present during the accident, the police write.
– There are demanding rescue conditions in the high gorge to pick up the patient, the police reported when the rescue operation was underway.
Both the air ambulance and the rescue helicopter are on their way, operations manager Sidsel Svarstad confirmed to VG around 6.20pm on Wednesday.
– Someone has been paddling and then a boat has gone round, said Svarstad.
The other paddlers must have caught the person who was walking around.
– The person is in a rough river and is being held ashore, said Svarstad and added:
– It is a high gorge of 60, 70 metres, so first we have to be able to get down there.
The police do not know the condition of the person who overturned as of now.
