The Government of La Rioja has just updated the information on the fire declared this afternoon in the surroundings of the town of Ciriuela, which has been considered controlled.
According to this information, “at this time the fire registered at 5:56 p.m. this afternoon in the Ciriuela environment is considered controlled.”
It is highlighted that “the rapid response and mobilization of means, together with the collaboration of the farmers who have collaborated in the extinction with their tractors, has prevented the fire from affecting the town.”
For this reason, given the controlled situation of the fire, the around 55 people who had been preventively evacuated to the parking lot of a nearby golf course are already returning to their homes.
Among the means displaced to put out the fire were 3 forest agents, 2 checkpoints, a fire engine, Carif and the helicopter of the General Directorate of Biodiversity ‘Mike Sierra’ and firefighters (6 troops) from the CEIS-Rioja de Haro and Njera mobilized with forestry pumps and full equipment.
In addition, from the regional government it has been highlighted that “they have been counting on the collaboration of twenty tractors from farmers in the area”.
