The definition, implementation and management of the strategy of Veterinary Services, Quality and Nutrition of the PAI (Integrated Food and Protein Products) of Senegal.
Main deliverables
- Design and implement “Veterinary Services for Poultry/Ruminant Farmers” in Senegal for farmer engagement, training and advisory support.
- Recruit, develop and lead the team of veterinary service providers, the quality team and the nutrition team according to the mandate.
- Implement and monitor quality assurance policies and standards;
- As a member of the IFP Senegal management team, work closely with other department heads, particularly sales and production to achieve veterinary and quality objectives.
- Support the technical and sales team in providing information and services to customers;
- Maintain expertise in nutritional trends and stay abreast of regulatory changes and pet food safety;
- Define, organize and ensure schedules for tours and visits to farmers;
- Qualitative reporting for better monitoring of actions.
Requirements
- The post holder must have solid relevant experience in the animal nutrition sector or be a veterinary doctor.
- Be a senior manager with at least ten (10) years of experience in the field of animal production.
- Fluent in French and English. Preferably Wolof as well
- Experience providing veterinary services to farmers in the animal nutrition sector in Senegal.
- Proven experience in the animal feed manufacturing sector (feed formulations and quality control);
- Knowledge of the quality specifications of different raw materials, feed additives and premixes used in poultry and animal feed;
- Knowledge of quality control system used in the feed industry (NIR calibration, wet chemistry proximity analysis, mineral analysis, process control and market quality);
- Experienced in lower cost feed formulations, particularly for poultry and livestock;
- Ability to conduct research and R&D trials in a safe, ethical and reliable manner.
