The main role in the career of Yanina Zheymo was the images of teenagers and little girls. Due to her bright and unusual appearance, the artist turned into young girls until old age, and one of her most notable works was the fairy tale Cinderella.
Soviet viewers highly appreciated the work of Zheymo, who at the age of 37 reincarnated as a 16-year-old princess. They showered the artist with compliments and praised her talent. However, over time, the fame of the film began to fade, and the audience was no longer so enthusiastic about the star of the screen.
As modern fans note, Zheymo looks too old for this role. Not only age-related changes are clearly visible, but also the tired look of the artist, who by that time had experienced many personal tragedies. And that’s why “Cinderella” by Nadezhda Kosheverova and Mikhail Shapiro looks ridiculous and comical today.
“Now Zheymo lost her temper. She turned out to be Cinderella with a tired look of a mature woman”, “The age discrepancy is very noticeable. My soul does not accept such a Cinderella, – share the opinion of the audience.
At the same time, the artist herself was also against participating in the film. At the very beginning of filming, she was very complex because of her age, but the scriptwriter Evgeny Schwartz was able to persuade her to forget about prejudices and star in the film.
