The age of “white noisemakers”! They do almost nothing but make $18,000 a month

People turned to podcasts. That’s why there are so many interesting podcasts on apps like Spotify and Apple Music. Some podcasts offer audio content full of political discussions, while others are about art, for example. In these podcasts, people talk for minutes, maybe a celebrity is hosted. In this way, they expect their audience to pay attention to them. However, there are also broadcasters who can reach tens of thousands of people and make big profits without playing any instruments, speaking or needing any guests, in short, almost nothing. They’re the star of recent times, the white noise makers.

Bloomberg, one of the leading media organizations in the USA, brought to its agenda those who earn as much as 18 thousand dollars a month from white noise, which has a calming feature and is used especially by families with babies.

Among this group, those who responded to the organization’s interview requests said they were well paid and were amazed at the power of podcast distribution. One of these people was Todd Moore.

RELEASED FROM HIS JOB, NOW 50 THOUSAND PEOPLE LISTEN TO HIM

It was stated that Todd Moore, who lives in the Florida Keys, an archipelago in the US state of Florida, quit his full-time cybersecurity job in 2009 to focus on white noise. It was recorded that Moore’s white noise program, which published a podcast called “Tmsoft’s White Noise Sleep Sounds” in 2019, is now listened to approximately 50 thousand times a day.

It was reported that Moore was paid $12.25 per thousand streams, which translates to about $612.50 per day and $18,375 per month.

Another name was Brandon Reed, who lived in Florida.

“I DID NOT EVEN WANT PEOPLE TO LISTEN TO THIS,” HE SAID, BUT IT HAS ABOUT 100K AUDIENCE EVERY DAY!

The report states that Brandon Reed started using Anchor to host some white noise programs in 2019, hoping it will help her baby boy fall asleep.

Soon after, it was stated that the Spotify algorithm began to direct people to Reed’s show, which he said was not intended to create a successful podcast. That year, he was noted to have created three free episodes filled with hours of static noise. Now it is reported to have around 100,000 listeners every day. Also, last year, it was learned that Reed’s program ranked in the top positions in four different countries. “I didn’t even want people to listen to that,” Reed said.

According to the report, Reed said that white noise fans tend to be extremely loyal. He once changed the frequency of a static track, and then a regular listener begged him to fix it. Because it was the only sound that could put their babies to sleep. Reed said that despite his success, he did not think of quitting his day job. “The funny thing is how important this has become to people.”
