Cianjur, West Java, again shaken by an earthquake. Now come on earthquake size (M) 2.8.
The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) reported that an earthquake occurred on Tuesday (22/11/2022), at 19.22 WIB. Earthquake centered on the mainland.
“The epicenter was on the mainland 9km southwest of Cianjur,” wrote @infoBMKG.
The earthquake coordinates were reported as 6.85 south latitude (LS) and 107.06 east longitude (BT). The earthquake occurred at a depth of 2 km.
The strength of the earthquake was felt by MMI III in Cugenang and Cilaku. The strength of MMI III makes the vibration feel in the house, it feels like a truck is passing by.
Victims of the Cianjur earthquake 268 people
The death toll from the earthquake in Cianjur, West Java continues to rise. BNPB said the death toll from the Cianjur earthquake was 268 people, update at 17.00 WIB this afternoon.
“Now there are 268 dead,” BNPB chief Suharyanto said in an online news conference on Tuesday (11/22).
Suharyanto explained that the death toll that had been identified amounted to 122. The identification process was still ongoing.
“Of the 268, 122 have been identified,” he said.
